skye

Unclear airport navigation can often cause setbacks such as delayed arrival time to your designated gate, missed steps throughout the check-in process, and unnecessary stress.

Let’s change this.

I created skye (a fictional mobile app) for first-time flyers (or those who do not fly often) to assist them in a step-by-step walkthrough in navigating each checkpoint of the airport up until they arrive at their gate.

Research

I began the ideation process by conducting multiple rounds of user interviews to gather data on specific paint points that have been encountered. 90% of those I interviewed have had to stop and ask for directions while rushing to their gate while 40% of those have reported missing their flight due to confusion.

Usability Testing

Using Maze, I conducted different testing methods for a select group of users to evaluate how seamless they were able to navigate the app from start to finish. After multiple rounds and some revisions, I was efficiently able to apply these changes to the final version of the mobile app. (Prototype shown below)

User Flow

Diagram I created to map out from start to finish how a user will complete a task on this app and easily accomplish the end goal - arriving to their gate.

Feature Prioritization Matrix

Process I used to rank and organize features Skye would use based on customer value, business goals, the amount of time and cost, and technical viability.
